-By Sonali Pahuja

“Saare jahan se acha Hindustan hamara” echoed in the school premises on this Independence day after a long time as celebrations with gathering have been forbidden previously because of covid. As India celebrated its 75th year of Independence under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, a wave of festivity enthralled the children. They were excited and strenuous to execute the cultural event and practiced wholeheartedly to showcase their patriotism and talent on stage.

The celebrations began with the hoisting of the respected tricolour by Honourable Chairman sir and Principal ma’am in the presence of all the staff and students followed by the national anthem. A series of patriotic dance and song performances continued the gala. A skit was performed by students driving true patriotism in the audience. There was a dance performance based on Rajasthani folk dance ghoomar creating an ambience of fun and euphoria.

In her addressing speech, Principal Mrs. Varsha Gaur told the students to look upon the journey of 75 years after independence as a reflection of hard work, sacrifice and innovation of ordinary India. She acknowledged our privilege of being born in free India and therefore should not forget those who fought for this freedom. She encouraged everyone to work towards the vision of our forefathers and to shoulder the responsibility as sincere Indians towards progress and growth of our nation.

Lastly, students took an oath to carve a better future for our motherland.
